Paving Method

Our 10 Point Plan to Guaranteed Success

1. Remove:

We remove existing surface in order to prepare the sub-base, the existing surface, be it concrete, lawn etc. usually has to be removed

2. Rip:

Rip and scarify soil to approximate depth of 150mm where required

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. Level:

The area will be graded to achieve the best falls obtainable for drainage, having regard to existing conditions and paving tolerances

4. Compact:

The area will be watered to its optimum moisture content and compacted

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. Screed:

The area will be covered with a layer of washed river sand screed to provide a smooth surface to receive the brick paving

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6. Pattern:

The bricks will be hand packed on the river sand screed in the desired pattern

7. Cutting:

Bricks are cut from edging using an angle grinder


--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8. Edging:

All exposed edges will be suitably retained by a concealed edge-beam laid under the edge brick


--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

9. Grouting:

The gaps between the bricks are filled by sweeping a wet mixture of plaster sand and cement over the surface and vibrated with a compactor

10. Tidy up:

Rubble Removal - MD Paving will ensure that the property is left free of paving related refuse and rubble after completion of the works
