Choosing the right paving Partner

Tips

Choosing a Paving Partner

Ask for addresses of local jobs  installed - not just recent ones but older jobs too. This will tell you not only how long the company has been in business, but how well their installations hold up over time.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Determine that the company understands the elements to your job and what you are trying to accomplish.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have them guarantee the paving.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't allow them to begin the job unless there is a written plan and proper drawing showing the area to be paved. It should be clearly stated in the agreement what you are paying for and the various steps involved.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ask to see samples of the product before proceeding.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Make sure that they agree to a flat price, and no changes will be made unless you, the client, choose to add on to or change the original plan.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Get references and check them out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How well do they understand the science of installing paving stones? Is this the core focus of their company, or are they a "Jack of all trades" but master of none?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Make sure they are up-to-date with current legislation and insurance requirements. Otherwise, you could be at risk for more than the value of your project. Not only is it crucial that they have a Contractor's License, but it should be in good standing with the Contractor's License Board.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do your homework.
